Tony Rapacioli began building The Visual Dome at the very start of the generative AI era in 2022. What began as experimentation became one of the most fully realized fictional universes in AI art — a parallel world with its own geography, social structure, and mythology.

The Dome has five districts. Inhabitants are assigned to districts by the haemoglobin that runs through their family tree. District 1 and 2 are dense city centres humming with industry. Districts 3, 4, and 5 push outward into increasingly raw and wild terrain where nature rules.

Every image starts with an analog sketch. Tony's process is deliberate — there is no random prompting here. The Visual Dome has been featured in Forbes and covered by The Daring Creatives as a landmark example of AI art with genuine creative intent behind it.
